The Bill (Reg. No.1123) defines legal, economic, environmental and organizational principles of activity in the field of geological investigations of gas (methane) of coal deposits, its extraction and removal whilst degassing, and further use as a material and/or power resource.
The Committee members emphasized that the Bill complies with orientation of the EU legislation as regards granting State aid to the producers and suppliers of electric power produced from methane from abandoned coal mines.
In the European Union, the issues concerning geological investigation, extraction and further use of methane from coal mines; State regulation, supervision and licensing of such activity are regulated at the level of national legislation of the EU Member States.
